The opening ceremony of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival took place in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak – dubbed ‘Vietnam’s coffee capital’ – on March 10 evening.
COFFEE FESTIVAL 2023 IN BUON MA THUOT CITY
In order to honor the farmers and the purpose of bringing Vietnamese coffee beans to the international market. Contributing to raising the value and affirming the position of Vietnamese coffee in the international market, the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival is also an opportunity to introduce the province's image, potential and tourism strengths, socialize strong festival activities, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Dak Lak.
TIME TO ORGANIZE
Dak Lak province started organizing the first COFFEE FESTIVAL in 2005 and recently the 8th COFFEE FESTIVAL was held from 10/3/2023 - 14/3/2023 with the theme of the festival is "Buon Ma Thuot - the destination of world coffee".
Coffee festival with 18 main activities, such as: Street Festival, Farmers Competition, Coffee making contest, Festival of Lights, Buon Don Elephant Race, Canoe Boat Race, Experience tours, The play of passionate desire.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang praised Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand and export potential. He suggested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinate with localities to continue restructuring agriculture and the coffee industry to move toward large-scale commodity production. He added that it is necessary improve planning, focus on growing areas, and promote a sustainable coffee production value chain while boosting cultural and tourism development.
"We must develop appropriate advertising, marketing and brand positioning strategies. We also need to focus on promoting close and sustainable links between enterprises, cooperatives and coffee growers, developing e-commerce, diversifying consumption channels, and improving the efficiency of connection between producers and consumer markets. Promoting the development of high quality coffee and Vietnamese specialty coffee with special flavor to meet international standards is very important," said Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.
