Cat Tien National Park is an important national park located in the south of Vietnam. The park mainly contains lowland forests and swamp, forming several different habitats. Trekking through Cat Tien National park will be an unforgettable experience for you to take this tour. You can watch the nocturnal wild animals drinking and hear the calls of rhinoceros.
HO CHI MINH CITY – CAT TIEN NATIONAL PART
You will get pickup at your hotel and then depart for a mountainous area which is full of rubber trees and green coffee and visit an extinct volcanic crater, known as Lava Tubes. After our visit, we cross the Dong Nai River to enter Cat Tien National Park and begin our wildlife experience. This park is located in the middle of three provinces: Dong Nai, Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc and is home to over 600 varieties of plants, 240 types of birds and 50 species of mammals.
After lunch with traditional Vietnamese Food at a local restaurant, you begin a three-hour trekking through the Reserved Core Area, where we will see many trees of different species that are hundreds of years old. After that, you will return to the center for dinner and spend your night at a bungalow.
CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK – HO CHI MINH CITY
You may be woken up by the uplifting songs of the native birds. When you get up, a good breakfast will sustain us for another four-hour trekking trip to see Crocodile Swamp. This is the home of freshwater crocodiles or Siamese crocodile – the species that was thought to be extinct. It is not only home to crocodiles but also a lot of plant and animal species listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world.
The jeep takes us 20 minutes (10km) from lodge to the trekking point, where you will start a 1 hour trek for about 5km. You will board our boat and paddle around the lake for an hour. We’ll have a chance to see birds, crocodiles, wild lotus before heading back to lodge for lunch.
After your trekking trip, you will return to the center for lunch and take the bus back to Ho Chi Minh City.
